Directions

  1. Fill the pot halfway with fresh filtered water.
  2. Place the pot in the sauna.
  3. Plug the pot into electricity.
  4. Turn the pot on HIGH with water in the pot.
  5. Add up to 3 tablespoons of herbs before the water boils.
  6. Cover the pot with the glass lid.
  7. Wait 3-4 minutes for the water and herbs to boil.
  8. Remove the glass lid from the pot.
  9. Adjust the steam to OFF on the side of the sauna.
  10. Wait 5 minutes for the steam to cool down and let the herbs steep.
  11. Place the cedar cover on the sauna box and sit comfortably on the sauna with the wide section of the teardrop hole facing the front. You can turn the pot on low or steam with off. Cover your body from the waist down to keep the steam in if you turned off the pot. If you steam on low setting, it is best to steam without covering your your lower body. DO NOT steam on HIGH setting.
  12. You may sit with your legs open during your steam session. If yourself from the neck down you can get a steam sweat but be sure to get up if it is ever too hot. You may modify the temperature periodically during your steam session by turning the pot from LOW to OFF and back on to LOW if you want more heat in your steam.
  13. Please remember that everyone is different and has a different temperature threshold. It will take a little getting used to and is an individual journey. Although, it should never ever be too hot. Please use as advised.

Contraindications

WHEN NOT TO STEAM

  1. If you are pregnant, it is NOT safe to steam. Steaming opens the cervix.
  2. When you are menstruating with fresh blood, steaming Is NOT safe.
  3. If you are trying to conceive, do not steam after intercourse while ovulating and after.
  4. When trying to conceive, only steam after menstruation and before ovulation.
  5. If you are prone to spontaneous bleeding between menstruation, steaming stimulates blood flow and is NOT safe.
If you are using the following birth control methods, vaginal steaming could cause birth control failure. It is not recommended to steam unless you take alternative birth control methods such as oral contraceptives or are not concerned about a possible pregnancy. *Steaming could reverse tubal coagulation, uterine ablation, Essure, and IUD. Steaming has been known to clear out old blood, unwanted residue, scar tissue, and unwanted thick mucous lining, which may Intervene with these intentional birth control procedures. Please consider a mild steaming session for 10 minutes or less. *If you have an infection, outbreak, spontaneous bleeding, or burning itch, please consult a Vaginal Steam Facilitator before steaming. *If you bleed between periods or bleed 27 days or less between periods, it is highly recommended that you follow the mild steam plan of 10 minutes for each steam session. *If you have a regular cycle with 28 days or longer, you may steam for up to 30 minutes.
